The end of the Spring college semester and the beginning of three memorial Day marks the unofficial start of the summer season,
And if you're a co-ed or 20-something it's tradition to head to the beach for Memorial Day weekend, Months of debauchery and fun!
South Beach is the place to go!
Restaurants and hotels plan for this to be one of Typically Memorial Day weekend in South Beach is also "Urban Beach"/music weekend.
Perhaps 4 or more if possible, to off-set that expense it's best to travel in a larger group. But prime locations will cost you much more at this point in time, you'll certainly find a place to stay. Just kidding - kinda. But you may already be too late, if you plan to head to Miami Beach this year and haven't already secured your reservations - I hate to tell you this! Their busiest weekends of the year for this very reason.
Within walking distance to all the hot spots, and parking fees - it would have been easier to use that extra money to just stay on the beach, gas, once you factor in the cost of a rental car. I actually disagree. They'll save money, many people figure that if they find lodging within a driving distance to the South Beach area. Traffic will also be very hectic this weekend.
It still may be a more doable option than anything else, but once again - if you get enough friends together, this will be pricey. Considering the fact that Miami hotels are typically 85% booked on this particular weekend - you may also want to consider researching vacation home rentals in South Beach.
Have a relaxing and safe Memorial Day holiday weekend! There's bound to be some small issues here and there, although the Miami police department does a pretty good job of managing the crowds - several hundred thousands turn out every year. Do your due diligence in researching hotels and the surrounding areas. Don't skimp on safety, no matter what you decide to do.
